SHIPPING

We ship to any domestic and worldwide destination that accepts donor sperm. We will ship sperm to doctors or any other authorized medical person or institution approved for treatment with donor sperm. We will also ship donor sperm directly to your home if a doctor has authorized it.

Domestic shipping (within the United States)

All shipments within the United States are shipped with FedEx 2Day service (business days), unless a different service is requested. Shipments are pre-paid both ways and can be shipped to either your doctor's office or to your home.

Please call us at 1-800-709-1223 if you need a shipment to arrive sooner than the standard 2 business days and we can arrange for that too.

International shipping

If you live outside the United States, give us a call or send us an email and we can give you an estimate of shipping costs to your country.

Duties, taxes and other custom clearance charges may apply to your international shipment. These are not included in our shipping fee. Such costs are determined by the receiving country and must be paid by the client or recipient of the sperm.

The fee is normally paid directly to customs or the customs broker prior to release of the package. In some cases the fee can be billed to you later. Please inform your doctor or your clinic’s facility about the requirements and consult with customs to avoid package release delays.

What does the shipping cost include?

The shipping costs include shipment to your clinic or home and also include the return of the special shipping tank to our lab.

How is the sperm shipped?

Each unit of sperm is shipped frozen in a vial. Vials are specifically made for safe cryo storage of human semen in liquid nitrogen and nitrogen vapour. Each vial is held in a visio tube clipped to a metal support rod (called a "cane") to facilitate vial removal from a refrigerated "tank" (or "dry shipper"). The tank is refrigerated with liquid nitrogen trapped in spongy material to prevent spillage, hence the name "dry shipper". The tank weighs 25 lbs and will hold storage temperature for a minimum of two weeks if left closed.

How should I handle the shipping tank once it arrives?

The tank itself is protected by an outside plastic container called a mushroom. The mushroom can be opened immediately upon arrival and our shipping papers, including packing list, handling instructions and return shipping label can be removed and saved for later use. The actual metal tank (inside the mushroom) that holds the donor sperm should be left closed until the sperm is needed for insemination.

How long can the specimens last in the holding tank?

The specimens can last in the holding tank for up to two weeks if the tank is left closed.
